NERDBOARD 60 v1

Designed for compatibility, performance, and effortless customization.

⚙️Key Features

  • GH60 Layout (63 Keys) – Based on the classic GH60 footprint but expanded with dedicated arrow keys for improved usability without losing the familiar 60% form factor.

  • Fully Hotswappable – Uses Kailh hot-swap sockets that support both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches, making switch swaps quick and solder-free.

  • Wired-Only Design – Stable and lag-free via a USB-C port mounted directly on the PCB for a clean, durable connection.

  • Powered by RP2040 Zero – The same dual-core microcontroller found in modern DIY keyboards, offering fast response times and wide firmware compatibility.

  • External BOOT and RESET Buttons – Conveniently located near the spacebar area for easy access through the plate when flashing firmware or entering bootloader mode.

  • Per-Key RGB Backlighting – Each switch location features an addressable RGB LED (SK6812mini-E / WS2812C-2020) for full lighting control and effects.

  • Full Underglow RGB – Additional LEDs mounted on the underside along all four edges provide vibrant ambient glow, perfect for transparent and acrylic cases like the Holy60.

  • Optional Rotary Encoder – The ESC position can be replaced with an EC11 encoder, made hotswappable using Mill-Max / Milsim sockets for flexible functionality such as volume or scroll control.

  • PCB-Mount Stabilizer Support – Designed for PCB-mount Cherry-style stabilizers; supports 6.25 u spacebar, stepped Caps Lock, and split Backspace / Right Shift options.

  • QMK / VIA Ready – Firmware support in progress, allowing full key remapping, layers, RGB customization, and encoder functions via VIA software.

🧩 Firmware Roadmap

The firmware build for the RP2040 Zero will include:

  • VIA-compatible keyboard.json layout with optional encoder mapping.

  • QMK-based RGB Matrix configuration supporting per-key and underglow lighting.

  • Pre-defined layer sets for base, function, and encoder control.
