The TTC Iron V2 is a 5-pin linear switch built entirely from upgraded POM — housing top, housing bottom, and stem — making it one of the more thorough applications of POM construction at its price tier. The result is a switch that feels solid, types smooth, and gets better with use rather than wearing down over time.

POM (polyoxymethylene) is a self-lubricating thermoplastic, which means friction between stem and housing naturally reduces the more the switch is actuated. Combined with factory lubrication out of the box, the Iron V2 starts smooth and improves further with break-in — a characteristic that sets it apart from switches relying purely on applied grease. At 41gf actuation, 1.4mm pre-travel, and 3.8mm total travel, it sits in a comfortable middle ground: light enough for fast typing without feeling unstable, and short enough in travel to feel snappy and responsive. The 22mm spring and 80-million-click rated life reinforce the V2's positioning as a durable, long-term daily driver.

TTC also optimised the internal structure to reduce shrapnel sound — the metallic ping from spring and leaf contact during actuation — for a quieter, more refined typing sound than standard linears, without extra spring lubing or foam mods. For backlit and RGB builds, a dedicated light guide column in the hollowed-out housing channels LED light effectively despite POM's opaque nature, keeping illumination visible and even across the keycap.
