A 123-key nSA low-profile PBT dye-sublimation keycap set — a NuPhy × Suda co-design where every alphanumeric carries the recorded sound wave of its letter, in a sci-fi navy, white, and teal palette.
Read the full description
The NuPhy Cymatics Bright is a 123-key nSA low-profile PBT dye-sublimation keycap set, co-designed by NuPhy and designer Suda as a study in the relationship between sound and visual form. Its defining detail is the waveform legends beneath each alphanumeric: individually recorded sound waves for the phonetic sound of each letter — drawn from Jessica Normile's Sound Wave Alphabet, pixellated to match the letter's font and set below the primary legend. Every alphanumeric is a functional letter and an acoustic fingerprint at once, giving the set genuine conceptual depth beyond a standard colour theme.
The design language extends across the board. Five Chaldi-pattern inspired legends run along the function row, and the palette of deep navy, clean white, and vivid teal was chosen for its modern, technical, sci-fi character. The colour layout deliberately inverts the usual "white inside" convention — deep navy covers the alphanumeric zone while white and teal modifiers frame it from the outside. That inversion strengthens the visual impact and draws the eye to the waveform detail on the most-used keys, exactly where it reads best during typing.
The nSA profile is NuPhy's purpose-designed low-profile standard: six rows of equal height with a gentle, gradual slope so fingers move between rows with minimal effort. The curved keycap surface keeps closer finger contact to reduce strain across long sessions, and rounded corners with equal side lengths give a clean, consistent profile that suits the slim look of low-profile builds. Unlike generic flat XDA or DSA profiles, nSA adds deliberate ergonomic calibration — a more refined option for low-profile daily use.
PBT dye-sublimation is the right process for this design. The fine waveform lines under each legend are the most technically demanding element here, and dye-sub reproduces them with the crispness, colour depth, and permanence the concept requires — navy, teal, and gray rendered in high resolution with fade-resistant legends. At 123 keys, the Cymatics Bright covers the broadest practical range of low-profile layouts in a single set.
