The KTT Macaron series is a pair of 5-pin switches offering two distinct keystroke characters in one visually cohesive lineup — a lightweight linear and a gentle tactile — both built on the same PA66 housing and POM stem foundation, factory lubed and ready to install. The Macaron name reflects the pastel colour identity of the stems and housing, and the series has built a steady following in the budget switch community as a reliable, smooth option that delivers more than its price tier typically promises.
The Macaron Red is a light linear — 37gf actuation, 45gf bottom-out, with an uninterrupted, smooth keystroke from top to bottom across 4mm of travel. At this weight it sits on the lighter end of the linear spectrum, suiting fast typists and gaming where rapid presses benefit from low-resistance actuation. The POM stem provides its characteristic low-friction feel, and the 18mm spring contributes a progressive, stable return without the ping shorter springs can produce.
