A collaboration short-travel linear built to cut every redundant millimetre — ultra-light 35gf actuation, a fast 1.2mm pre-travel, an early zero-redundancy bottom-out, full-POM warmth, and a dual-stage spring.

Read the full description

The Gateron × UKeebs Snowy Silver is a collaboration linear built around one defining principle: eliminate every redundant millimetre from the keystroke. At 1.2mm pre-travel and 3.4mm total travel, it's one of the faster-actuating MX-footprint linears available — reaching its actuation point quickly, bottoming out cleanly, and rebounding with immediate clarity, all in a stroke shorter than the standard 4mm linear most keyboards ship with.

What sets the Snowy Silver apart from other short-travel linears is its early bottom-out zero-redundancy architecture. Most switches have a small amount of dead travel after the physical bottom-out — the stem has made full contact with the housing base, but the keystroke hasn't fully resolved. The Snowy Silver eliminates that: the moment the stem reaches the bottom, the feedback is immediate and complete, with no ambiguity about where the stroke has ended. Gateron describes it as a racecar-like keystroke — precise, definitive, and clean from actuation to reset. For fast typists and gamers who track keystrokes by feel as much as by ear, the difference is perceptible.

The material stack is built for both performance and acoustics. A polycarbonate top supports RGB light pass-through, while a full POM stem and POM bottom housing deliver the warmer, more controlled sound that POM-on-POM contact produces — less bright than PC-on-nylon, and well suited to builds where the sound profile is as carefully considered as the feel. The Box stem adds lateral column support throughout the stroke, reducing wobble and keeping the keystroke tracking straight regardless of off-centre finger placement. The dual-stage custom spring gives a distinct two-phase force curve: lighter initial resistance that steps up toward bottom-out, for a progressive character that stands apart from the flat, uniform curve of single-stage linears.

Gateron's professional Family factory lube is applied at manufacture, targeting the friction zone between stem and leaf-spring contact. The result is what Gateron calls a "Buttery Smooth" profile — friction noise largely eliminated, leaving a clean, quiet linear stroke that stays consistent from the first press through to the 80-million-click rated life.

🌟 Key Features

  • 1.2mm Ultra-Short Pre-Travel — One of the fastest actuation points in a 5-pin MX linear, registering well before standard linears
  • Early Bottom-Out, Zero Redundancy — Dedicated bottom-out architecture eliminates dead travel after contact for immediate, definitive feedback
  • Box POM Stem — Four-sided column support for reduced wobble with a naturally low-friction, self-lubricating POM surface
  • Full POM Bottom Housing — POM-on-POM contact for a warmer, more controlled sound than PC or nylon bottoms
  • PC Top Housing — Polycarbonate upper for clean, consistent RGB diffusion in backlit builds
  • Dual-Stage Custom Spring — A two-phase force curve — lighter initial resistance stepping up toward bottom-out — for a progressive, distinctive feel
  • Gateron Family Factory Lube — Professional lube on the stem-leaf contact zones for a smooth, friction-noise-free "Buttery Smooth" profile
  • 35gf Ultra-Light Actuation — Near-featherweight actuation for fast, effortless keystroke repetition
  • 3.4mm Short Total Travel — Compact stroke depth for a snappier, more resolved feel per press
  • 5-Pin Compatible — Fits all 5-pin hot-swap and soldered MX PCBs
  • 80M-Click Rated Lifespan — Gateron-grade durability for long-term daily use

📦 How Many Do I Need?

Switches are sold in packs of 10. As a rough guide: a 60/65% board needs ~68 switches (7 packs), a 75% ~84 (9 packs), a TKL ~87 (9 packs), and a full-size ~104 (11 packs). Buy a pack or two extra if you want spares.

🎯 Perfect For

  • Fast typists and gamers who want a short actuation point and an early, definitive bottom-out for precise keystroke control
  • Builders who want the sound of full POM construction — warm, smooth, controlled — in a fast-actuating linear
  • RGB build owners who need clean PC-top light pass-through without losing the acoustic warmth of POM lower materials
  • Enthusiasts exploring collaboration switches who want a genuinely differentiated spring and bottom-out design, not a spec retheme
