The Gateron KS-3X! Milky Yellow Pro is the refined successor to one of the most popular budget linears in the hobby. Where the original Milky Yellow earned its place through a smooth, accessible typing feel at an approachable price, the Pro addresses its known limitations directly: retooled molds for tighter tolerances, a larger stem for reduced wobble, and gold alloy contacts in place of the previous generation's gold-plated ones. The result keeps the character the community valued in the original while delivering a noticeably more polished, consistent keystroke.
The housing is PA66 nylon top and bottom, in the milky translucent finish that gives the switch both its name and its gentle, diffused RGB glow in backlit builds. The POM stem provides the naturally smooth, low-friction linear feel that makes POM a preferred stem material across switch tiers, and the larger stem dimensions specifically target the lateral wobble that was a recognised criticism of earlier milky iterations. The retooled molds tighten the stem-to-housing fit without introducing binding — keeping the stroke smooth while improving the stability of the travel path.

Switches are sold in packs of 10. As a rough guide: a 60/65% board needs ~68 switches (7 packs), a 75% ~84 (9 packs), a TKL ~87 (9 packs), and a full-size ~104 (11 packs). Buy a pack or two extra if you want spares for the hot-swap sockets.
